John Laing Group plc, the international originator, active investor and manager of infrastructure projects, today announces that it has reached financial close on the acquisition of a 20MW onshore wind farm project north west of Dijon in Bourgogne, France.

The Pasilly project (“Pasilly”) is John Laing’s first investment in French infrastructure as well as in French renewable energy. Pasilly will be delivered and operated by Gamesa and will operate 10 Gamesa G97 turbines. The project will benefit from the French feed in tariff mechanism for 15 years from the start of operations. Construction is expected to be completed in Q3 2016.

Pasilly is the fourth wind power project to be delivered through the successful relationship between John Laing and Gamesa.

Ross McArthur, Managing Director of Renewable Energy for John Laing, said:

“The French Government has recently pledged to increase the share of renewable power in the energy mix. At John Laing we are pleased to be contributing to the growth of renewable wind power in France, as well as to be working with Gamesa once again. We continue to see attractive opportunities to invest in projects in France and other selected countries in Europe.”
