John Laing Group plc, the leading international investor and manager of infrastructure projects, today announces that The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (Rijkswaterstaat Large Projects and Maintenance) and Parkway 6, a consortium of John Laing Group, Dura Vermeer, BESIX and Rebel have reached financial close to deliver the A6 Almere public-private partnership (PPP) project. The project comprises the design, realisation, financing, management and maintenance of the A6 Almere motorway for a period of 20 years. The contract has a total value of approximately €300 million.  John Laing’s equity contribution is £9 million for an 85% share in the project company Parkway 6.

The A6 Almere project will enhance an important link in the traffic system in the Schiphol – Amsterdam – Almere corridor. The road section links up with the A1/A6, the A27 and the N702. Growth of the town of Almere and forecast increases in traffic between Almere and Amsterdam have created the need to expand the road's capacity.

John Laing CEO Olivier Brousse said: ‘This road project in the greater Amsterdam region will improve traffic flow through an important economic corridor and use state of the art solar panels to power the lighting of the motorway. John Laing is delighted to be involved in such an important project for the Netherlands, operating alongside partners Dura Vermeer, BESIX and Rebel reinforcing our presence as an active investor in Dutch infrastructure projects.’
