Glencarbry Windfarm, Ireland

John Laing acquired Glencarbry Windfarm from well established Irish developer Ecopower in 2015. At the time of acquisition, all necessary planning consents, grid connections and property were in place for John Laing to progress with the construction. John Laing actively managed the project through the final stages of construction, into operation in 2017 and built an operational track record of over three and a half years.
Located in County Tipperary in the Republic of Ireland, Glencarbry Wind farm has a total capacity of 35.6 MW. It consists of 12 Nordex wind turbines (7 N100 3.3 MW Delta turbines plus 5 N90 2.5MW Gamma turbines).
Glencarbry Windfarm was divested in early 2021 to Greencoat Renewables plc for a total consideration of €31.2 million (before divestment costs).
